In a significant stride towards advancing sustainable agriculture practices in Central and Eastern Africa, CANALLS has announced its partnership with the Transformative Partnership Platform on Agroecology (Agroecology TPP). This collaboration aims to leverage synergies and exchange knowledge to foster agroecological transitions in the region.
The Transformative Partnership Platform on Agroecological Approaches to Building Resilience of Livelihoods and Landscapes (Agroecology TPP) aims to foster transitions to more sustainable agricultural and food systems by accelerating and coordinating the actions of a range of institutions that are already working on agroecology across various scales, contexts, and locations.
We align closely with the goals and methodologies of the Agroecology TPP. With a focus on promoting sustainable farming practices, CANALLS is strategically positioned to strengthen the agroecology landscape in Central and Eastern Africa, where the Agroecology Living Labs are situated.
One of the key strengths of CANALLS lies in its diverse partnership network comprising influential organizations deeply committed to facilitating the transition towards agroecological principles. By leveraging these partnerships, CANALLS aims to generate and disseminate valuable knowledge on selecting and implementing agroecological practices, employing a co-creation methodology to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
The collaboration with the Agroecology TPP brings added value to both parties. CANALLS stands to benefit from the extensive network and resources of the TPP, facilitating knowledge exchange and synergies building. Conversely, the Agroecology TPP gains access to CANALLS' project results, which can be disseminated across its channels and members, thereby amplifying their impact.
As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture, our coordinator, CIRAD, recently participated in the 2nd Annual Members Forum Meeting hosted by the Transformative Partnership Platform on Agroecology (Agroecology TPP) in Nairobi.
The forum, spanning two days, serves as a pivotal platform for stakeholders to converge and delve into discussions centered around agroecology and related topics. It provides a unique opportunity for critical reflections on ongoing initiatives, as well as evaluations of progress made in advancing sustainable agricultural practices.
By joining forces, CANALLS and the Agroecology TPP are poised to make significant strides in promoting agroecological practices, ultimately contributing to the resilience and sustainability of food systems in Africa and beyond. Stay tuned for updates on this transformative partnership and its impact on sustainable agriculture.
