CANALLS Project Shines at World Cocoa Conference 2024

CANALLS Project Shines at World Cocoa Conference 2024

The CANALLS project made a significant impact at the World Cocoa Conference held from April 19-24, 2024, in Brussels. The event provided a prime opportunity for CANALLS to showcase its efforts and establish valuable connections within the global cocoa industry.

At the conference, CANALLS was prominently featured with a dedicated rollup at the Cameroon stand, which was vibrantly animated by the National Cocoa and Coffee Board of Cameroon (ONCC). This visibility allowed CANALLS to reach a diverse audience and engage with key stakeholders in the cocoa sector.

Our esteemed partner, IRAD, played a crucial role in presenting the CANALLS project to several high-level authorities in the cocoa industry. Notable figures included:

  • Mr. Luc Magloire MBARGA ATANGANA, Minister of Commerce in Cameroon
  • Mr. Jonas Mva Mva, Regional Director Africa, Landscapes & Cocoa at The Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH)
  • Mr. Michael Ndoping, General Manager of the National Cocoa and Coffee Board of Cameroon (ONCC)
  • Mr. Marcello Corno, Head of Cocoa Science at Barry Callebaut
  • Ms. Virginie Mfegue, Representative from Solidaridad International
  • M. Samuel Donatien NENGUE, Administrator of FODECC
  • Other prominent partners from the living lab, including SAILD and IDH

Additionally, CANALLS was presented to participants of the EU Sustained Cocoa Initiative, further broadening the project's reach and influence.

The conference's success has led to an exciting follow-up opportunity: CANALLS has been invited to participate in the WCF Partnership Meeting in Brussels in February 2025. This upcoming event will provide another excellent platform for CANALLS to advance its mission and foster collaborations within the global cocoa sector.
